Madonna: Truth or Dare (known as In Bed with Madonna outside North America) is a 1991 American documentary film chronicling the life of American singer-songwriter Madonna during her 1990 Blond Ambition World Tour. The film was generally well-received by critics and was successful at the box office, becoming, at that point, the highest-grossing documentary of all time with a worldwide gross of $29,012,935. It remains the eighth highest-grossing documentary of all time. It was screened out of competition at the 1991 Cannes Film Festival.
Jefty, owner of a roadhouse in a backwoods town, hires sultry, tough-talking torch singer Lily Stevens against the advice of his manager Pete Morgan. Jefty is smitten with Lily, who in turn exerts her charms on the more resistant Pete. When Pete finally falls for her and she turns down Jefty's marriage proposal, they must face Jefty's murderous jealousy and his twisted plots to "punish" the two.
